So far in our study of John 3:16 we have focused on the first four words: “For God so loved….” Today we want to focus on the target of God’s love: “the world.” There are four questions we want to ask about the world:
I First, _____ does God love the world?
II Second, ______ exactly does the Bible _______ by “the world?”
1. First the cosmos is the p___________ realm of existence which takes in the whole u______________.

This is about how we get along with each other and with God.
When we talk about the world in this second sense, we need a balanced view:

“The Most Well-Known Verse in the Bible” (Part2)
John 3:16
If someone asked you to quote John 3:16, chances are you would not need a Bible to do it. Most Christians have committed this verse to memory. But how many of us have thought about it long enough to enable us to explain its meaning and significance to another? Last week we looked at the first two words of this verse, “For God.” Today we proceed to the next two words, “so loved.” There are four things we should notice about this love of God to which Jesus refers.
I First, this love of God is not v_________ or g_____________, but Jesus has something very s______________ in mind.

I To beginwith, we need to admit what a ________ ________ lies before us.
As challenging as this verse is, weneed to wade into the depth of what it has to say for two crucial reasons:
